left bank

It’s been awhile since I visited a new bookstore in the country. I was on a work trip to St. Louis and couldn’t resist! A bookstore and public library less than 4 blocks from each other – it’s fate. This store had a character and charm – complete with their own cat mascot, how cool is that? Left Bank Books is the perfect corner store which “opened in 1969 by a group of graduate students at Washington University who wanted to create a place where one could find all kinds of literature. We are the oldest and largest independently-owned full-line bookstore in St. Louis, and we offer a full-line of new and used books, gifts, cards, magazines, toys and services”. Any kind of bookstore that is a huge supporter in the community and builds literacy and education in a city has my blessing and support 🙂

Other stops in the city included service opportunities in the Jewish communities as well as The Art Museum, Coffee Cartel, Washington University, and Forest Park. An adventure for sure. Until the next time…. 🙂
